OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences is a dynamic and innovative university, playing a key role in the economic and societal development of Eastern Switzerland and Liechtenstein. With around 3,800 students, 1,500 professionals pursuing executive education, and more than 1,000 active research projects, OST serves as a central hub for knowledge transfer and technological advancement.

The Institute of Energy Technology (IET) at OST is at the forefront of hydrogen research, focusing on planning and operating various electrolysis technologies, hydrogen purification and maintenance, as well as fuel cell technologies and hydrogen integration into existing energy infrastructures.

We are proud to support OST with our HydroCab PowerCore – a state-of-the-art energy storage system that combines the benefits of hydrogen and battery storage. This solution seamlessly integrates with existing solar, wind, or hydropower systems, enabling both short- and long-term energy storage. Its plug-and-play modularity allows flexible adaptation to diverse research needs.

Enapter AEM Electrolyser EL 4

High efficiency Electrolyser with low requirements for input water purity. The Modules can be easily integrated in 19“ racks and have low maintenance requirements. As many modules as needed are addable to a scalable and modular System.

Enapter Water Tank Module (WTM) 2.1

The water tank is rack mountable into a standard 19” cabinet. It is able to supply 11 AEM electrolysers with clean water,

Enapter Dryer

The dryer is maintenance- free. During operation, one cartridge catches the humidity from the hydrogen gas stream of the electrolyser, while the other cartridge is heated and regenerated. The dryer is rack- mountable in a standard 19” cabinet.

Hydro Fuel Cell

Our fuel cells from Intelligent Energy can be integrated into our modular and individual configurable H2 Core systems, complementing the systems immensely, because the hydrogen produced can be easily and reliably converted back into electricity. The fuel cells are available in the different power levels 1.2 kW, 2.4 kW and 4.0 kW.

Innovative Hydrogen Research at Technische Universität Chemnitz

Technische Universität Chemnitz, in collaboration with H2 Core Systems GmbH, is advancing innovative hydrogen research by utilizing two Indoor HydroCab units equipped with nine Enapter AEM electrolyzers, a water tank module, and a dryer to provide high-purity hydrogen (H₂ 5.0) for sustainable fuel cell powertrain research.

Residential multi-home /Phi Suea House, Chiang Mai, Thailand

The Phi Suea House (Home of the Butterflies) is the world’s first solar-hydrogen multi-house which has been off-grid since 2015.
Enapter electrolysers power all energy and water needs onsite, converting solar energy to electricity and storing excess power as hydrogen. During low sunlight, stored hydrogen fuels electricity generation through fuel cells.

HTL Dornbirn – Austria

At HTL Dornbirn, the innovative Green Hydrogen training and demonstration facility, featuring the Indoor HydroCab®, empowers students to gain hands-on experience with sustainable technologies, preparing them for the energy transition while fostering collaboration between education, industry, and research.

Universität Hohenheim – Germany

A pilot plant for the production of alternative fuels based on biomethane in which hydrogen is converted with carbon dioxide to methane in a methanation reactor. The hydrogen required for this is produced in an electrolyser and is to be temporarily stored in a Type IV hydrogen tank as a buffer.

BBZ Dithmarschen – Germany

The inauguration of Hy-StorE100 at BBZ Dithmarschen on March 20, 2025, marks a significant step in training future professionals in hydrogen technologies through real-world applications, with the Indoor HydroCab®—featuring an electrolyzer, fuel cell, and hydrogen storage system—playing a key role in hands-on education.

Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

This Brazilian green H2 project aims to support decarbonizing the Amazon where the use of dirty diesel predominates.
To achieve this we installed 3 Outdoor HydroCabs® V2.1 incl. Enapter Electrolyser, Enapter dryer, Enapter water storage, water purification, fuel cells, compressor system, Enapter EMS, H2 storage (including commissioning)

Honeywell: Lotte/Osnabrueck, Germany

4 Outdoor HydroCab® was installed.

Honeywell advances sustainable energy with its new hydrogen production plant, reducing costs from €150/kg to €22/kg.

The facility features a powerful electrolysis unit, photovoltaic system, and safe hydrogen storage, enabling reliable 1 MW burner operation.
